Building brand awareness and digital advertising through social media platforms is an essential part of most businesses marketing strategies. However, TikTok was not widely considered within the category of revenue generating social platforms until relatively recently.
Although TikTok is a well known ‘fun’ app that is primarily associated with teenagers and younger generations, who spend hours scrolling through videos of dancing animals and obscure challenges, it is quickly becoming a favourable place to advertise products and services.
Since the introduction of advertisements on the TikTok platform in 2019 several popular brands have used TikTok to promote their products, including Nike and Zara. Smaller companies are now following suit with several Irish-based brands using TikTok to advertise their new products including SOSU by Susan Jackson and mrcandy.ie
